React IOS restaurant finder app

Looking to create a React Native or Swift based IOS app to find restaurants. I could work with you but I have a day job so I want someone to help me out with the work. Also would love to hear your idea on a cost and performance optimized backend system design. For the mvp the user should be able to press a button for speech and the converted text will be used to search against the yelp api. The challenge here is that I want the searched result to be curated to match the user's preference and also by what other similar users are liking. For example if we allow our users to tag a restaurant with a keyword or with a simple like to help curate future searches, I am suspicious that we could not update the data coming from the yelp api. (not sure because Ive never used the yelp api) But do we address this issue by having the initial data generated by users or by us and if the user wants additional information about a location, then we make a call to yelp api? Stretch goal is implementing some ML / AI to learn the preference of the user. (Would be nice if you have any prior art with something similar) Anyways would love to hear what your thoughts are!
