This is designed to allow police recovery of stolen handsets and allow users to destroy any data remotely that may be considered "private" such as phonebook, messages, email, pictures etc. And for fun if possible a "crash" handset feature would be awesome (we have the ability to reflash the handsets firmware in store) so don't worry about "recovery". To the right person this will lead to more development of this application.
The primary platform is for the Symbian handsets so it will work on the N-Series handsets of Nokia's, but if you could port to multiple platforms then great (please mention this in your bid) This needs to be a multi platform application that runs in the background on a handset with a control panel that can achieve the following:-
* If a handset has GPS capabilities to post back the GPS co-ordinates (a preset time period can be set but after power on would be good as a default) using a username and password to a web server (other data such as IMEI and telephone number will need to be posted back)
* if the sim card is changed a text message is issued to a preset number (upto 5 can be specified) with the handsets IMEI and GPS co-ordinates etc
* A remote wipe/disable ability from a server, anything that can remove a phonebook user data or if you're a really evil programmer something that could disable the handset. If this can also be done from a text message command from a preset number embedded into the programme (this would be a number from our servers)
