Based on an existing CMS and knowledgement system I want to enable webdav features.
The CMS is a custom build and works with different databases.
Using the Tomcat webdav module or Jakarta Slide, etc. I need a framework written in Java/XML that implements the existing CMS.
The IMPORTANT thing is that I don't want to/can't work with a filesystem structure but a structure that works with the database to fetch the actual files in its dynamic way.
During my research I wasn't able to find a way on how to enable a database with webdav features, everything I found used filesystems.
But there is probably a way to make this work since a few commercial CMS introduce that structure.
I don't know if an existing module like Slide can be used to achieve this so I can't really estimate how much coding work needs to be done or if only a couple of files need to be changed.
So just tell me what you need to do/change to get it to work.
Also let me know, if you need details about the CMS or databases.
Since I only know basics about webdav a good documentation of the code is required as well as a basic guide on how to enable my CMS to use webdav with the database.
As a little example (for understanding purposes) of the program I'd like to be able to recieve the tree-structure of the database, also to see if you are working in the right direction.
Please ask questions if my explanation lacks of detail.
Also dont hesitate to introduce me to other ideas concerning my intention and how you could solve it.
