I'm currently running a gaming server for a game called MapleStory.
The source code is run in Java (jdk15). Using IntelliJ as the IDE.
I am having trouble building out one of the features: experience distribution. Experience is just a value that players receive until they level up.
This is how it works: Players receive experience points when they kill a monster. There are several functions involved when it comes to calculating how much experience they receive. This accounts for the damage they do to the monster, the number of players in their party, and a few other parameters.
The current issue is that, no matter how much damage they do, all party members receive the same experience. I need them to all to receive a baseline EXP (formula is provided), along with additional EXP that corresponds to the amount of damage they dealt (assuming they have damaged). All EXP obtained by all party members will total to the monster's maximum EXP.
Party size = 4 members
Monster total experience = 1000 (to be divided amongst all 4)
All 4 members will receive 150 experience baseline PLUS experience based on damage
Now, depending on how much damage they have dealt to the monster, they will receive the baseline 150 + a specific amount based on their damage (formula will be provided). I have already developed a MAJORITY of the code. I just need to factor in the damage dealt. If you are able to assist, or if you have any questions, please let me know.
