I am looking for someone with a good amount of experience in Java to help me make an existing GUI application run headlessly (i.e. from a terminal window with no need for X11 etc.). The applicaiton is called 'FreeRouting' and it can be downloaded from GitHub here:
It is an application for automatically routing traces on a Printed Circuit Board (PCB). Currently, it can be run like this:
java -jar [login to view URL] -de [login to view URL]
This then opens a GUI from which you can run an 'autorouter' function to connect all of the traces in your design (dsn file). This takes a short while, and once its complete you can click file -> export Sepctra Session File, and it will export an output file.
I would like to be able to run something more like this :
java -jar [login to view URL] -de [login to view URL] -out [login to view URL]
which would run the autorouter, wait for it to complete, and then automatically generate the output file without needing to have the GUI open to click the buttons. I think this should be a fairly straightforward modification for someone with Java experience, but I am not an expert in this field.
