I have to create a joomla page that has a input box on it and an answer field.
When I enter some information in the input box and press a button to submit, it needs to run a small piece of javascript that will pass some information to an aspx url that's in an iframe. when the aspx page runs it will return a value that can be put in the answer field. I don't think you actually have to do anything with the answer field, I can take care of that in the aspx iframe app.
A sample html page that does what I need follows, but I need it to be in Joomla 3.0 or 3.2 instead of an html page:
<html>
<body>
<p>write here <input type="text" value="test command" id="val"> then <input type="button" value="click here" onclick="javascript:doTest();"></p>
<p>Answer is: "<span id="answer" style="color: navy;"></span>"</p>
<script>
function doTest()
{
var ifr = [login to view URL]('app'); // that's the iframe
var cmd = [login to view URL]('val').value; // that's the command you want to send to the app
var ev = new [login to view URL]("cmd", "", null, 7, cmd);
}
</script>
<iframe id="app" src="[login to view URL]" width="500" height="500"></iframe>
</body>
</html>
I can take care of the iframeproject.aspx.
