Position for Senior Software Developer and Software Developer (Node on AWS)

Program Manager: Chief Technology Officer

JOB STATEMENT: This position helps plan and execute a year-long project developing a full-stack LMS/SIS software application for our buisness. Candidates must have a strong background in AWS architecture and familiarity with best practices concerning Node, REST APIs, and Web-Based Applications. The project backend will be developed in Node, while the front end will be developed in React JavaScript. Candidates must have a background in relational database design and storage systems (Amazon RDS, S3). You work directly with a team of talented developers, team lead, and senior leadership. This position will work closely with the project team leader to manage other software developers and accelerate project development and completion time. This position will work closely with the team lead to having day-to-day oversight for the software development project.

JOB DUTIES:

Design a server-side highly scalable application using Node running on AWS.

Full understanding of AWS architecture and best practices.

Strong background in relational databases and Amazon RDS, S3, DynamoDB,

Familiarity with React.JS for front-end development.

Familiarity with REST API designs and implementations.

Work together with other developers to ensure the highest levels of communication

Assist school leadership in measuring effectiveness and progress of the development project.

Provide regular program reporting regarding program outcomes

Participates in regular staff meetings.

Provides feedback about the development project and technologies being used.

Ability to problem solve and provide exceptional solutions.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Previous work experience in Education or related application development is recommended.

Has a strong work ethic, exercises sound judgment, and is a skilled communicator both in oral and written communications.

Language Ability:

Using American English, ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write grammatically correct routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the company.

Back-End: Node, REST APIs, Relational Databases, Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, S3, This job requires the use of spreadsheets, presentations, Internet, navigation of the Internet, word processing, and databases. To perform this job successfully, the individual should have required experience using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Google Email.

Equipment:

To perform this job successfully, the employee must have proficient skills and knowledge of PC Workstations and Microsoft Windows.
