On my website I have various forms, images, pdfs, etc that I want to be print as needed by vistores.
l) locate the img_src of the page it is currently on e.g. if they are viewing a product page it will typically have a product image and a bunch of text about a description, price, etc.
2) offer to show and/or print that image with a specified title and footer on the page.
This will need to be "linked" by a "PRINT ME" button which a user clicks to start the process.
This is VERY similar to a gmail user who is offered a link to print the mail message, NOT the screen... It opens a new (temporary) window with JUST the message in a "printable" format and then allows the user to confirm they want it printed. When complete, it closes that "temp" window.
The result will be a one page printed sheet with a "variable" driven title/header, the image, and a footer "Printed courtesy of [url removed, login to view] and a the date/time.
For example. The customer is viewing a catalog of "products" with images. They click on the specific image and a new page opens with that product's image and details like price, etc.
They click on our "Print Me" button and the application looks at the pages source abd finds the image location, it then opens a temp window to display the image without all the other text. Using the src path, it is able to print the image and finally, close down and return to the normal product screen.
I am not dictating the program... just it's functionality. If there are other ways to do this just work with me.
I need this ASAP!
This is my first posting here and I will be interested in how it goes... Thanks.
Looking forward to seeing your bid, -- Ben
