Server side processing of gis/raster data on mapserver using NetCDF Java XML or other options

I need to convert custom binary data into XML or a similar format using NetCDF Java and store the results in a postgre database for plotting on a map using mapserver. There are other options available, too detailed to discuss on this initial posting. I already have mapserver on my server, but would prefer to use Google Maps and a Google Earth KML for the output, if possible. This link provides a general overview of one process using NetCDF.
