Remote Independent Rater for Translation Project

Seeking a remote Independent Rater to assist with a research project involving translation data. The role involves reviewing and validating pre-categorized translation content in a single spreadsheet (~130+ entries). Candidates will assess the data against the defined criteria provided by the researcher. This is strictly a rater role — no translation is required. Detailed instructions and the dataset will be shared with selected candidates. A Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) must be signed before access to the spreadsheet is granted. The position is fully remote, allowing candidates to work independently from their preferred location. Qualifications Educational or professional background in translation or linguistics Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking Familiarity with translation frameworks or techniques (e.g., Mona Baker, Newmark) is preferred Ability to follow instructions carefully and meet deadlines Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting Active HPI membership preferred Familiarity with cultural and societal norms in the relevant region is a plus Compensation Pay rate: USD 20–30 for completion of the task Payment is provided upon submission and review of the completed spreadsheet
