There is no programming required. We simply need a server administrator who is experienced with ffmpeg, mencoder, flvtool, various video codecs, etc to help us improve our current video upload management solution. Nothing new...users upload either an mpg, wmv, or mov and our php script converts it to FLV using mencoder or ffmpeg. There is no programming in this project; we simply need a consultant/expert. This will involve:
## Deliverables
You can deliver us your expertise using rentacoder comments. We will provide access to update mencoder on our dev server. 1) suggesting to us optimum ffmpeg and mencoder commands/flags based on what kind of video file is uploaded. We allow wmv, mpeg, and mov uploads. 2) debugging our current audio sync issue with mencoder. We will provide you with a sample wmv file that is causing a problem for us. We have read that we should simply upgrade mencoder on our server. This project includes logging into our server and updating mencoder if necessary. 3) suggesting some general logic in managing video file uploads. We currently use ffmpeg-php, too. Maybe we should be using different mencoder and/or ffmpeg commands based on what type of file is uploaded for optimum performance/quality? Or maybe you can suggest mencoder/ffmpeg commands/flags to work for all types of uploaded files? 4) a simple summary of notes on our final mencoder and ffmpeg installations so that we can replicate this environment on other servers if you are not available for hire in the future. This can be 4 lines of text - whatever you think a server administrator might need to know to replicate our current video upload to FLV environment.
