Getting OpenWrt configured as a wireless access point

I'm trying to set up an OpenWrt installation to act as a wireless access point. My target system is RDC 321x / Bifferboard. All I want for full payment is the steps I need to take in order to get Openwrt to act as a wireless access point with DHCP, connecting to the LAN connection. If I need a USB dongle with a different chipset then part of the solution will be to find a site where such a dongle can be purchased.

## Deliverables

I've tried USB wireless dongles with chipsets zd1211rw, rtl8187 and rt2800-usb using the defaults from wifi detect but whilst the wireless network appears I can never ping the board's LAN IP address when connected. I'm using KAMIKAZE (bleeding edge, r24851). Here's my current wireless config with the rt2800-usb dongle attached: config wifi-device radio0 option type mac80211 option channel 11 option macaddr 00:xx:xx:xx:xx option hwmode 11ng option htmode HT20 list ht_capab GF list ht_capab SHORT-GI-20 list ht_capab SHORT-GI-40 list ht_capab RX-STBC1 # REMOVE THIS LINE TO ENABLE WIFI: option disabled 0 config wifi-iface option device radio0 option network lan option mode ap option ssid OpenWrt option encryption none
