I have a backup server running at backupsy they run with 512mb RAM.
I backup mail and web servers to the backup server.
The problem is the mail server especially has such a large folder stricture and number of files to be sync'd that even though it is only updating changed files it pulls all the memory from the backup server and crashes it, or it triggers a system at backupsy to switch it off because it is using too many resources.
I have read there are ways in which you can make Rsync use less memory. I need a solution providing and implementing by someone or an alternative that suits my requirements.
Payment will only be made when you can prove that the backup is not using all the system resources.

I have great experience with Linux and recently involved is quite a few rsycing cloud/server projects. I understand resource allocation can be a pain, so let's fix it :)
Hi, As far as i know, rsync is the best solution. I think you have configured it incorrectly. If you could share the rsync config, i can have a look and suggest changes .
Less strong cipher and bandwidth limit can address your requirement. You can try it yourself based on above information or please let me know if you need my help. Cheers!
