Linux / Unix administration

I am running a small IT business and my clients are small to mid-sized companies (SME). Currently, I am doing everything by myself but I'm getting to a stage where I could use a second pair of hands to support me so that I can put more focus on generating new business. I am looking for someone with the following technical skills: - At least 5 full years experience in Linux administration that is not specific to just one distribution. If you have also experience in one of the BSD's, even better. - I only use headless servers, you should therefore feel at home on the console. - You need to be comfortable with various types of init systems but at least SysV and systemd. - Proficient in shell scripting with focus on bash. Bonus: Experience in Perl/Python scripting - Solid working knowledge of TCP/IP networking (General networking, DNS, LAN/WAN Routing, IPTables etc.), including IPv6. - At least good basic knowledge of Nginx. - Bonus: Experience with heterogenous networks, namely using Samba4. - Bonus: Experience with Linux containers (LXC/LXD) and, less importantly, Docker - Bonus: Experience with database administration using PostgreSQL or MySQL While the technical skills are most important, there are some objectives you should be able to meet in order to ensure a good cooperation: - Linux administration should not be something that you do just for a few projects but something that is part of your daily life. I therefore expect you to keep up with new developments and proactively find better solution to existing problems. - While I don't expect you to speak my language perfectly, you should be able to perfectly understand English and you should be fluent enough in speaking and writing so that I can understand you. Knowledge of German or Serbo-Croatian next to English would be a bonus, but is not a necessity. - Usually, you will have more than enough time for your tasks so that you can plan according to your own schedule. However, in the (rare) case of an emergency, you need to be reachable and able to react within 2 hours during business hours (8:00 am - 5:00 pm UTC+1) and within 4 hours outside of business hours. - You will always receive a full task description from me via email but I also expect you to have an open line with me on Skype and one of the major mobile messengers (e.g. Whatsapp/Viber) - Last but not least, I expect clear and honest communication from you and offer the same back.
