We need a great art director / designer type person to - produce elements for websites - oversee and direct CSS technicians for artistic choices - pull stock photos and crop and color correct them - may include occasional logo design work, usually just cleanup of a pencil sketch or ugly fax etc but sometimes logo design from scratch - may include ground-up design (no code, we have a team for that) but more likely finding those rare .05% of websites that stand out and are really well done to clone (be inspired by, i.e. we don't literally copy it) or riff on. Tasks will vary widely so we just need hourly for this. Ideal candidate is a talented artist all around, with excellent color theory, drawing skills, high attention to detail, one-pixel-accurate design. You won't really need to do any code, but will be expected to be a photoshop master, and communicate with writers (who may give you headlines to put into images) and CSS techs (who will slice images up to convert into our wordpress-cms system). The ideal candidate is available 2-5 hours every day (Mon-Fri, perhaps occasional saturdays if we get slammed), and in return gets a stable source of income. If that's you, please 1. Post "Yes I read the actual post" at the top. You'd be surprised how many idiots just reply blindly without reading. I'll delete them off the top. 2. No companies. This is ideal for one guy who's good. We refuse to deal with middlemen to complicate things and arbitrage money that should be yours. If you're a manager at some ISO-certified indian company with 72 bazillion techs and artists, I don't care, don't apply - we need one great guy/gal, that's it. 3. Show a small selection of your best work. If you post 50 links, I'll choose some at random that may not be your best. This is a paid test for 5 hours of work, you're just selling me 5 hours of work - no deliverables, and if that goes well, we'll grow from there. Thanks! :) roger in los angeles
