We need a logo for a website which is intended for aspiring book authors (fiction and non-fiction). The web-based tool will allow users to set up a book project and build the content over time. For a similar kind of site to the one we are developing, see writing.com. There will be various tools to assist authors. Perhaps a picture of a book, old spectacles and a quill, an old typewriter - please use your imagination, but it needs to be professional and reasonably serious-looking.
If you want to post samples of your ideas, remember that rentacoder requires that these be a watermarked and low-resolution version of the work. For this purpose, please assume that the name of the project/website is "Bloox", which can either be integrated into the graphic or adjacent text. We will give you the actual name when we select the winning bid (or bids). Please give examples of your graphic design work when bidding.
The work must be original and you must assign copyright to us. When bidding please assume that there will be a reasonable amount of revision as we refine the idea.
1) The logo will need to be delivered at the following approximate sizes (aspect ratio may vary depending on the design):
300x100px gif or jpeg for website logo
600x200px for print
16x16 icon (for website [url removed, login to view]).
2) The work must be original.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

Many thanks to the many bidders for replying to the bid request.
We are going to start accepting one or more bids without closing bidding at this stage.
We are looking for something distinctive, rather than similar to an existing logo on the web,
but also professional-looking (usually the more complicated the logo the less professional it looks).
Having said that, we are not totally ruling out cute animals and charicatures - but the site will
be aimed at people who are serious about writing.
Once again, thanks for bidding!
