We are looking for a developer to help design and build a complementary application and admin console for our macOS update product.
We use an open source product called Munki [login to view URL] to manage application patching on macOS devices. A client has a manifest file that builds up a list of what applications are installed and what version they are on, it then compares with with a cloud server and if any are out of date the update will be downloaded and cached.
As this all happens in the background we are looking for a swift app to be designed what would provide a GUI to user that would inform them they have updated to install, what apps need updates and also let them choose when these are to be installed via a calendar or date selector. This of this like any AntiVirus app where you would be provided a simple interface to show when the system was last scanned, if you are compliant etc.
The second part would be to send live data from the app to a central cloud admin console where a security team could look at this and see how compliant all of their devices are. They should be able to make changed to the swift app if required so for example if a user had 10 apps out of date and was ignoring prompts to reboot and install we could force this from the admin console. An open source app called SAL [login to view URL] does this already and reads the Munki logs to display in dashboard form but we feel this would need to be rebuilt for our requirements.
I'm happy to discuss this further on a Zoom call if required.
