Our server were recently rescued from cpanel backups but its newer in versions than previous, since the move, none of them can reach the database—every request on sistes with db returns 500. The machine is running MariaDB, so the first objective is to track down and resolve whatever is blocking or mis-mapping those connections. Deliverables (acceptance criteria) • Sites load without any “database not found” errors and can read/write as expected. You can check first the server. Second task (paid separately) will be to migrate a server downloading backups, and then Ill reinstall it and restore it in the new one.

Hi, I've dealt with this exact scenario many times—cPanel migrations to newer stacks breaking MariaDB connections due to mismatched socket paths, changed credentials, or updated authentication plugins. My approach: first, I'll SSH in and check MariaDB status, error logs, and socket configuration, then verify each site's `[login to view URL]` or equivalent DB config files for correct hostnames, usernames, and passwords. I'll also confirm user privileges and ensure the `mysql_native_password` plugin is set correctly for compatibility. I can start right now and typically resolve these connection issues quickly. Happy to handle the second server migration task as well once we wrap this up.

I usually structure database migration projects by identifying the main engineering risk, which in this case appears to be reconnecting MariaDB/MySQL connections post-migration. This risk can be mitigated by carefully planning the migration process and ensuring that all connections are properly reestablished. I typically design migration plans that prioritize minimal downtime and data integrity. I approach systems by considering the overall architecture and how it will be affected by the migration. In past projects, I have successfully migrated databases while ensuring that all connections remain intact. I recommend separating the migration process into smaller, more manageable tasks to ensure a smooth transition. I am confident in my ability to deliver a reliable and efficient solution for reconnecting MariaDB/MySQL connections post-migration. I offer micro-deliverables, such as incremental migration plans and connection testing, to ensure that the system is fully functional and meets the required specifications.

Hello, I understand that your server is experiencing issues with MariaDB/mysql connections post-migration, resulting in 500 errors on sites with database requests. My technical expertise allows me to efficiently identify and resolve any blocking or mis-mapping issues affecting these connections. I plan to start by thoroughly investigating the server to pinpoint the root cause of the database connection errors. Once identified, I will work towards ensuring that all sites can load without any "database not found" errors and function properly in terms of read/write operations. The deliverables for this project include resolving the database connection issues so that all sites can operate smoothly without any errors related to database connectivity. I have experience in handling similar database-related challenges and will ensure a seamless resolution to the issues you are facing. I would be happy to discuss your project further and provide you with more details on how I can assist in resolving these database connection problems. Best regards, Malaika

Hi there, I’ve handled this exact issue before—after cPanel restores or version upgrades, MariaDB connections usually break due to config mismatches, socket issues, user privileges, or host mapping. I can quickly jump in, check your server, and trace why all sites are returning 500 errors when hitting the database. I’ll make sure all sites connect properly and run without “database not found” errors, and explain briefly what caused it so it doesn’t happen again. Also happy to help with the second migration task after this is resolved. Ready to start immediately. Cheers, Nico Legaspi

Hi, ⭐15+ Yrs Sr Developer here⭐ I can check the server first and quickly trace why the restored cPanel sites are throwing 500 errors when connecting to MariaDB. After migrations, this is often caused by changed database names, users, passwords, grants, socket paths, PHP/MySQL version differences, or missing config updates. I’ll verify the site configs, MariaDB status, user privileges, logs, and cPanel mappings to find the exact connection break. Then I’ll repair the database access so the sites can read/write normally again without “database not found” errors. I’ll also give you a short summary of what was wrong and what was changed, so the next migration can be handled more safely. Once this is stable, I can help separately with downloading backups and restoring them to the new server. If you think I am a good fit, feel free to ping me anytime. — GAZMIR
