I need a licensed structural / materials engineer to take one insulated concrete panel design for a residential building and turn it into a fully-validated set of calculations and test results. Scope of calculations • Thermal insulation properties – R-value, U-value, expected energy performance across the full panel thickness. • Structural strength – bending, shear and the axial load case I will supply, with clear safety factors for residential code compliance. • Moisture behaviour can be treated qualitatively; the focus is on heat transfer and strength. Scope of testing • Laboratory-grade thermal conductivity test. • Compression test on a representative core sample. • Full-scale or coupon axial load test to confirm the calculated capacity. Please deliver 1. Calculation package (PDF + native files) showing formulas, input data and results. 2. Test plan referencing the relevant ASTM / ISO standards and the equipment you will use. 3. Raw test data and a concise report that compares measured values to the calculated predictions. 4. One summary sheet that I can submit to my local residential permit office. Finite-element tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus or SAP2000 are welcome but not mandatory as long as the methodology is transparent and reproducible. Timeline, lab access and any sample preparation requirements can be agreed once you review the panel drawings I will provide on award.

Hi mergeng, Last week i did a similar insulated concrete panel analysis and i am confident to handle this really well. I’ll produce clear, reproducible calcs for heat transfer (R/U across full thickness, with connector thermal bridging) and strength (bending, shear, axial per your load case), treat moisture qualitatively, and back it all with lab tests per ASTM/ISO. I can use hand calcs plus ANSYS/Abaqus where it adds value. If a local stamp is required, I can coordinate review/stamp with a licensed PE in your state or work with yours. i would like to know the below. - Which code/jurisdiction and versions should I design to (IRC/IBC, ACI 318, ASCE 7, local amendments, safety factors)? - Do you want me to book an ISO 17025 lab and prep samples, or will you provide lab access and cut specimens? I think we should. - Model 2D thermal bridges at wythe connectors to avoid overstated R-value and set a conservative design R. - Run a short sensitivity study (material strengths, connector spacing) to lock-in robust safety factors and reduce rework. Lets follow a plan like this. - Confirm requirements, drawings, materials, loads, supports. - Build 1D/2D heat model; compute R/U; sanity-check with hand calcs. - Do structural calcs (hand + FEA if helpful) for bending, shear, axial; set code safety factors. - Write test plan (ASTM C177/C518, C39, E72/E564), fixtures, acceptance. - Prep samples, schedule lab, witness tests
