"The digitally controlled motor with a large inertial is to be controlled with state feedback techniques. It is desired to have the motor respond to a step input of speed command with no more than a 5% overshoot, a settling time to within 2% of the final value of 2 s, and a steady state error of less than 1%.
The objective is to design a state feedback controller using pole placement techniques that will allow the motor to meet these criteria. An observer is required to obtain estimates of the states for the controller. For this assignment just use the nominal value for “a” (10)."
