I already have an ESP32-C3 prototype of AutoSmear running reliably on a hand-wired board, but now it is time to turn that lab-bench tangle into a production-ready PCB. Compact layout is my top priority: the board must fit inside the existing enclosure while leaving room for future shielding and airflow. Just as important, the A4988 motor driver needs to be integrated cleanly so the stepper that moves the blood-film spreader glides without vibration or jerks. What I will hand over to you • Tested firmware ( ESP32-C3) • Current schematic, wiring diagram and BOM • Mechanical constraints for board outline and mounting points What I need back • Updated schematic reflecting any refinements you suggest • Space-efficient multilayer PCB layout with proper ground strategy, decoupling and short motor-phase traces • Gerber/ODB++, pick-and-place and drill files ready for fabrication • BOM with manufacturer part numbers and at least one readily available alternative per critical part • Brief design report highlighting noise-reduction choices, EMI counter-measures and how smooth motor operation was validated (e.g., trace impedance, bulk/ceramic capacitor placement, microstepping current paths) Acceptance criteria 1. Board footprint fits inside the provided DXF outline with all keep-out zones respected. 2. Stepper tests at 16-microstep mode run continuously for 30 min with no missed steps or audible resonance. 3. Wireless communication range remains equal to or better than the current prototype. I’m comfortable if you work in KiCad, Altium, or Eagle as long as the final deliverables are neutral-format files plus PDFs for quick review. If questions arise about power budgeting, EMI or thermal paths, you will have direct access to me and the mechanical designer so decisions are quick and data-driven. If crafting compact, low-noise boards around ESP32 and stepper drivers is your thing, I’d love to see how you can help push AutoSmear closer to the clinic.

Hi there, I’ve carefully read your project description and I fully understand your goal: converting your proven ESP32-C3 AutoSmear prototype into a compact, production-ready PCB that fits the enclosure constraints while ensuring clean A4988 integration and smooth stepper performance. This is exactly the kind of work I’m experienced with. With my background in mechatronics and embedded electronics, I have solid experience designing compact multilayer PCBs around ESP32 platforms, motor drivers, wireless systems, and noise-sensitive embedded hardware. I can refine the existing schematic, optimize the layout for space, grounding, decoupling, EMI control, and motor trace routing, while keeping manufacturability and future shielding considerations in mind. I’ve already worked on similar ESP32 and motor-control systems, so I’m confident I can move faster on this project while maintaining a professional and reliable result. I can deliver the updated schematic, production-ready PCB files, fabrication outputs, BOM with alternatives, and a concise design report that clearly explains the key layout and noise-reduction decisions. Just send me a message, and we can get started right away. Best regards, Samuel Tshibangu

Hi, I have specialized experience in miniaturizing ESP32 designs and optimizing stepper driver layouts for medical and laboratory equipment. For the AutoSmear project, I will implement a four layer stackup to isolate the high current motor traces from the ESP32-C3 sensitive analog signals and RF path. I will focus on placing the A4988 bulk capacitors as close as possible to the driver pins to eliminate voltage spikes and ensure the smooth, jerk-free motion required for blood-film spreading. My design will respect your DXF constraints while optimizing the thermal dissipation of the motor driver through dedicated copper pours and vias. I am proficient in KiCad and Altium and can deliver production-ready files that meet your strict reliability and noise-reduction standards. Best regards

Hello there I can help with your PCB project. Since you already have a working ESP32-C3 prototype, so my approach will be to refine your schematic and translate it into a compact, multilayer PCB that cleanly integrates the A4988 with proper grounding, tight current loops, and optimized decoupling to ensure smooth, vibration-free microstepping while preserving RF performance. I’ll handle component placement and routing with enclosure constraints in mind, validate motor stability and noise mitigation through layout best practices, and deliver fabrication-ready files, a clean BOM with alternatives, and a short report explaining key design decisions
