I need a mechanical designer who can take our autonomous warehouse robot from concept to production-ready hardware with zero lag time. The unit is dedicated to inventory management, so the chassis, lift mechanism, sensor mounts, battery tray, and safety enclosures must all be optimised for accuracy, repeatability, and 24/7 floor duty. You will be working shoulder-to-shoulder with our electronics, embedded-systems, and software groups; PCB footprints, cable paths, sensor line-of-sight, and heat dissipation all have to be baked into the mechanical layout from day one. Expect rapid feedback loops through SolidWorks/Onshape, Manufacturing Drawings and FEA validation so we can move to sheet-metal and CNC tooling immediately—we are on an ASAP timeline. Deliverables • Fully parametric CAD model of the robot (assemblies + sub-assemblies) • Manufacturing drawings, tolerances, and BOM ready for fabrication partners • FEA or equivalent structural/thermal reports that confirm payload and duty-cycle targets • A short revision log that documents design decisions made in collaboration with the electronics and firmware teams Acceptance criteria: parts fit together without post-machining, sensor fields remain unobstructed, centre of gravity stays within specified limits, and the prototype passes a 12-hour continuous inventory run.
