I am developing a compact, battery-powered device that continuously feeds a roll of sticky mat across a doorway so the exposed surface always stays clean. The concept is simple: a fresh section of mat is pulled from one spindle, laid flat, and the used layer is wound onto a take-up reel. Here’s what I already know I want: • Time-based automatic control that advances the mat precisely every hour. • A low-profile, walk-safe deck suitable for hospital corridors and dusty construction entries alike. • A rigid steel frame for durability, yet light enough to remain truly portable. • Quiet, sealed gear-motor driven by a rechargeable battery pack with enough capacity for a full shift. I need a freelancer who can translate this outline into a complete, ready-to-manufacture solution. The work spans mechanical design (3-D CAD, load calculations), electronics (motor driver, timer circuit or microcontroller, safety interlock, battery management), and embedded firmware that lets me tweak the hourly advance interval if required. Deliverables 1. CAD files and assembly drawings showing the steel chassis, spindle arrangement, and low-angle entry/exit ramps. 2. Electrical schematic, PCB layout, and firmware source code that runs the hourly advance sequence. 3. Motor and battery sizing calculations plus a consolidated bill of materials with suppliers. 4. A short test plan describing how we confirm the mat advances correctly, the deck bears foot traffic, and safety cut-outs trigger. Acceptance criteria • Mat advances smoothly (no wrinkling) exactly once per 60 ± 2 minutes under load. • Overall thickness does not exceed 25 mm at any point people will step. • Battery run time ≥ 8 hours continuous standby plus 10 advance cycles. • Frame holds a static 120 kg load without permanent deformation.
