Update Existing MS Access Database

Hi, Ryan! I am placing a bid as otherwise I cannot write a direct message. Few things I have on mind. First, and most important is - what does means "same network"? Does it mean that you can share folder and they can see that folder? If that is the case, it will be easy to share database by splitting database to frontend (FE) and backend (BE) parts. What version of Access are you currently using? If it is 2003, I can fix errors raised due to compatibility (usually MDB from 97 can be loaded into 2003 without any issues!). Or you like, perhaps, to move to 2007-2016 (ACCDB format)? If those are main concerns (fix errors, make it work in the network, upgrade to newer format), that is doable fairly quick Let me know and we can settle this quick! Best regards, Branislav Mihaljev

Hello, I am employed MS Access/SQL Server developer. I believe you have some issues regarding the upgrade as access 97 and 2010/2013 use different libraries (code syntax behind the program). It changes slightly but mostly makes issues when you migrate to newer versions. I worked with 1997, 2003, 2007 and 2010 access versions and had issues as well but always manage to find a solution. Your form for customer details with export wont be an issue and you can use database from different PC's, all you need to do is to split the database so the data is in one file and application in other. Hi Ryan, good to talk to you. I've been using all versions of MS Access since version 2.0 back in the nineties and I'm confident I can do this work for you. As you can see from my resume, I have excellent feedback and I'm just re-starting my Freelancer work after a few years off. I can convert the database to any version you prefer and correct the errors if you can supply me with the original 97 version. The XL download is very straightforward and you're correct about shop floor staff entering data too. Avoiding duplication of effort is the main goal of any good software. Hi, Technically I have 15+ years developing VB and database applications and I have developed numerous access applications for various requirements. So I believe I should be able to provide the application you require. From what you described it sounds like you're main aim is to stablise the upgrade and to add 2 new features 1: create, read, update and delete customer contact details with an export feature. 2: A second user interface to the application: This can be done any number of ways and most of them depend on your existing IT set up. The easiest option would be to create a new database which links into the existing one. This will allow you to have an application with just a subset of the existing functionality available on another PC while keeping more sensitive information only available on the existing PC. Another option would be a simple internal web site to handle the data entry. Should you consider this bid, then please contact me and we can go over the details.
