Automate MS Project Excel Sync

I have an actively-used Microsoft Project schedule and I want a companion Excel workbook that updates itself the moment I revise the .mpp file. The link can be built with VBA, Power Query, ODBC, or any approach you trust, as long as it runs on a standard Office 365 installation and does not require extra paid add-ins. The connection must pull the following fields every time I save or refresh: • Task progress • Resource allocation • Project timeline (start, finish, baseline, variance) • Task actual completion % • Tasks planned completion % Key points - The Excel file will be the main reporting tool for stakeholders, so the formatting, formulas and pivot charts I add later must not break when the data refreshes. - Task IDs, WBS structure and parent-child hierarchy need to stay intact so look-ups keep working. - Read-only from Project is fine; no need to push edits back to the .mpp. - Please include brief, step-by-step instructions so I can transfer the solution to other projects in the future. Deliverables 1. Linked Excel workbook pre-populated with my current schedule. 2. Re-usable code/connection script with clear commenting. 3. A short walkthrough document or video (under 10 min) showing how to refresh and troubleshoot. Acceptance criteria • A newly saved change in MS Project appears in Excel after one manual refresh or automatically on file open. • All five data categories listed above populate correctly for every task. • The solution runs without errors on Office 365, Windows 10/11.
