We are looking for an experienced mobile developer or development team to build an iPhone LiDAR scanning application similar to CubiCasa. The app should allow users to scan indoor spaces using a LiDAR-enabled iPhone and generate accurate point cloud data that can be exported in E57 format for professional floorplan drafting. The exported scans will later be imported into SketchUp using point cloud plugins to trace walls and generate clean floorplans. Accuracy and real scale measurement is extremely important for this project. Core Requirements The application must: • Use iPhone LiDAR sensor for interior scanning • Maintain true scale measurements • Export E57 point cloud files • Support high density scan resolution • Include color data in the scan for identifying doors, windows, stairs, etc. Primary export format: E57 Optional formats: LAS LAZ PLY Expected Workflow User scans property interior with iPhone ↓ LiDAR captures point cloud data ↓ App processes scan data ↓ Export file in E57 format ↓ Import into SketchUp point cloud plugin ↓ Trace walls to generate clean floorplan IMPORTANT – READ BEFORE BIDDING DO NOT send generic bids. This project can be built using Apple’s LiDAR + ARKit scanning pipeline, and I can implement a workflow that captures accurate point cloud data and exports it in E57 format for use in SketchUp. Technical approach • LiDAR Capture – The app will use ARKit (ARSession + SceneDepth / ARMeshAnchor) to capture LiDAR depth data and generate a dense point cloud while the user scans interior spaces. • Point Cloud Processing – Depth frames will be converted into world-space points using camera intrinsics and accumulated in a global coordinate system. Noise filtering, downsampling, and color mapping from RGB frames will be applied. • Scale Accuracy – ARKit’s world tracking and LiDAR depth calibration will maintain true metric scale. Additional drift correction can be applied using ICP alignment and anchor stabilization. • E57 Export – The processed point cloud will be written to E57 using a native E57 writer library, preserving XYZ coordinates, color data, and metadata. Optional exporters can generate LAS/LAZ/PLY. • Technology stack – Swift + SwiftUI, ARKit, Metal for efficient point processing, and a lightweight C++ module for E57 file generation. The workflow will allow users to scan interiors, generate a high-density colored point cloud, and export it for SketchUp tracing.
