I need to find a talented and hardworking individual or team who can build me a Unity 3D Pro 4.6 project that works on iOS (both iPhone and iPad formats) and Android (one project for all platforms).
The app will use Vuforia's Augmented Reality SDK to look for custom designed markers within a full-screen camera feed, and when one of about 40 pre-determined markers is detected, one of several things might happen: a 3D animated model (FBX file) is overlaid onto the camera feed and matched in 3D to the camera feed/a page of text and images appears. In addition, a navigable menu system allows access to the same 3D/text/image content without using marker detection - the same content needs to be shown but without the realtime marker tracking.
Also the app has a series of 360° panorama photos that can be viewed fullscreen, these are shown mapped onto the inside of a sphere that the user can pan around by touch gestures, or by using the device's built-in gyroscope.
Other elements of the app might include pages with text and images, a page of watchable HD videos, and links to external web sites that will open in the device's browser (i.e., not in-app browsing).
The app will be developed for distribution in two ways: one outside of the App Store with full content and media, and a second one for distribution on Apple App Store and Google Play that will have some features removed and much more heavily compressed/downsized content and media.
You will be expected to deliver a single project that can be configured to build both versions of the app using a clear set of build-time parameters.
We will provide 3D animations, all imagery and the graphic design guidelines for all screens and assets to be used, although you will be responsible for making the interface responsive (ie. adapt to whatever the device's native display resolution is). The app must NOT assume any particular resolution/pixel density/form factor, the UI must adapt automatically.
The entire source code and project will belong to us and you agree to share it with us in it's source state during project development. We will use Dropbox to share files and folders and the 'live' Unity project should be located within that Dropbox folder. You will be expected to join that shared folder for the entire duration of the project. Regular updates to that project will be expected (every week or so) for review and feedback by ourselves and our clients, and we will discuss and agree a payment structure that uses Milestone payments in response to those regular updates.
Please send examples of large-scale, robust Augmented Reality projects you have completed in Unity previously. The project will not be awarded to any bidder that does not include a relevant portfolio of work. Once you have agreed to the NDA clause and placed a bid, if you are shortlisted you will be sent a detailed specification for you to review and confirm you are happy with the project.
Finally, this is a long-term high-quality project for a very big client, and is expected to run until March 2015. Whilst you are bidding now, please be aware that we will not be starting full production for a few weeks so you must be ready to start work on the app and be prepared to continue working on it for two/three of months. We expect you to be available to work collaboratively with our team who will be supporting you by providing the assets you need.
