We are using WebCamTexture class and GetPixels method in Unity to read the camera from the device. It works "ok" on iOS but it is slower on Android. We need a 640x480 image in RGB or BGR or RGBA format each frame in C++ where we will further process the image. It must works on all Android devices (2.3+) and we need a performance equal or superior to Qualcomm Vuforia Unity add-on. We will compare the performance between the received library and Qualcomm Vuforia using a Samsung Galaxy S2.
