I’m not looking to give a lot away, but I am incredibly eager to hire and collaborate with an iOS / iPad OS / Android app creator - agile methodologies and the usual project structuring, but with a bit more freedom. I’ll be creating the UI / UX designs and working closely with the successful applicant.
This application will have the potential to accurately capture the local / regional ‘social’ activity and through clever crowd sourcing and collaboration with the wider industry, we can enable tighter idea sharing and encourage more people to enable positive change.
More will be divulged after initial consultation and chat.
In a very rough nutshell the mobile app is a conservationist crowd sourcing resource. It should collate data feeds from registered orga, councils and groups, with the customer given the opportunity to filter their area of interest and quickly find opportunities to help. So think of red squirrel or pine marten conservation here in Ireland. There are established groups but to my understanding no cross community or sharing of ideas, resources or events. There are a lot of people out there who live the idea of conservation but have no idea of quickly, or easily getting the required info and more importantly, the ability to sign up to crowd sourced events!
The user will select their areas of interest and the app will filter accordingly, obviously the UX is key here, as the data feeds and need to structure a sound DB will undoubtedly raise a multitude of user journeys and functional requirements.
the potential to have councils come on board with funding ‘may’ provide even greater funding potential. My initial investments would ultimately be covered via adverts on the apps and the ability for people to pay for an ads free version. Etc.
I think it can potentially become a massive resource and not only is it heavily extensible, with more opportunities for current and future devs to come on board, but the appeal is in ‘selling’ the app to other regions in Ireland and the UK.
or we just build it out, whichever makes more sense. I’m ambitious and want to be at the helm of this when other regions start to want it.
