I have a large web application that I am moving from a single dedicated server to a cluster of several nodes. The database is 12GB. I am interested in working with a MySQL --EXPERT-- to discuss ways to optimize my table structure, configure a dedicated MySQL node or multiple nodes, re-configure MySQL options, etc. I am a very experienced web developer and IT administrator . I am looking for someone who is an expert specifically in MySQL. If you are not familiar with query cache configuration, index tuning, etc, please do not apply for this job. Specifically, in your application please state your prior experience with tuning large datasets, creating high availability clusters, etc.
I would expect to be able to share my database schema, sample rows from each table, information on site / query utilization, and expected response time targets with you, and have you prepare a report suggesting possible schema changes, table storage engine changes, and MySQL configuration option changes. As a second optional deliverable I would like to discuss the merits of spreading the database across several nodes. This would take the form of an ongoing discussion rather than a formal report. 1) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law.
