I already have a working n8n flow that places simple trades, but I now need to roll out what I call “Opción B”: full state management, support for complex orders, and a reliable kill-switch. The integration must talk directly to the Charles Schwab API, so proven experience with that specific broker is essential. What’s left to build • State logic: every open position and pending order must be tracked continuously, with status updates saved to my PostgreSQL instance and pushed to Telegram in real time. • Complex orders: the flow has to create, monitor, and — when required — cancel OCO (One Cancels Other) orders using Schwab’s REST endpoints. • Kill switch: a single flag in n8n (manual boolean, plus an optional webhook) should immediately cancel every open order and stop new ones from being submitted until re-enabled. Acceptance criteria 1. A single n8n workflow file (JSON) I can import that contains the new nodes, credentials placeholders, and clear notes. 2. Successful placement, modification, and cancellation of an OCO order on a Schwab paper-trading account, demonstrated via screen share or recorded session. 3. Kill-switch toggling proves that no further orders are accepted while the flag is off. 4. State table in PostgreSQL shows live updates; Telegram receives the same events within 2 seconds. 5. Brief markdown README outlining environment variables, Schwab auth flow, and any rate-limit considerations. Tech stack in play: n8n (latest), Node-based custom functions, PostgreSQL, Telegram Bot API, Charles Schwab REST. If this aligns with your Schwab and n8n expertise, let’s schedule a quick call so I can hand over the current flow and credentials stubs.

Hi I can help extend your existing n8n trading flow into a safer “Opción B” system with proper state management, Schwab REST integration, PostgreSQL persistence, Telegram alerts, OCO order handling, and a reliable kill-switch. The main technical risk here is not just placing trades, but preventing duplicated orders, stale state, missed cancellations, or new submissions while the system is disabled. I would structure the workflow so each Schwab order and position update is written into PostgreSQL, mirrored to Telegram, and validated through controlled n8n logic before any order action is allowed. For complex orders, I can implement the OCO creation, monitoring, cancellation, and status reconciliation using Schwab API endpoints with Node-based custom function nodes where native n8n nodes are not enough. The kill-switch would be enforced before every trade submission and paired with a cancellation routine that clears open orders immediately when triggered manually or through a webhook. I can also provide the importable n8n JSON, credential placeholders, inline notes, and a clean README covering environment variables, Schwab auth, state tables, and rate-limit handling. Thanks, Hercules

Hi there, I read your Schwab n8n upgrade project and I’m confident I can implement a robust Opción B with full state management. I’ve built direct Schwab REST integrations before and I’ll architect a clean, testable flow that tracks every open position and pending order, syncing to PostgreSQL and Telegram in real time. I’ll add complex order handling (create, monitor, and cancel OCOs) and a reliable kill switch that blocks new orders until re-enabled. I’ll deliver a single importable n8n workflow file, along with notes, and a brief README covering auth flow and rate limits. Next steps: I can start immediately and deliver a first runnable draft within about 5 days. Best regards,

Hello, To handle Opción B, we need to elevate your current n8n flow into a resilient, state-driven trading engine. Having worked extensively with Charles Schwab’s REST API, I know firsthand that maintaining continuous state management requires strict token refresh handling and precise formatting of the nested orderStrategies arrays for OCO execution. I will implement a custom n8n code node to compute the exact deltas between Schwab's positions endpoint and your PostgreSQL instance, ensuring deduplicated updates hit Telegram well under your 2-second threshold. For the kill switch, a global boolean check will sit at the very entry point of the workflow, instantly blocking new submissions and routing existing active order IDs through a quick cancellation loop. Looking forward to your reply. Best, Niral

Hi, I understand you already have a working n8n trading flow and now need to upgrade it into a production-grade system with full state management, complex order handling, and a reliable kill-switch, integrated directly with the Charles Schwab API. I can extend your existing setup to build a robust “Opción B” architecture inside n8n that includes continuous position tracking, PostgreSQL state synchronization, and real-time Telegram updates for every trade event. I will also implement support for complex order types including OCO (One Cancels Other) orders using Schwab’s REST API, along with proper monitoring, modification, and cancellation logic. For risk control, I will add a global kill-switch (manual + webhook-based) that instantly blocks new orders and cancels all open positions when triggered, ensuring full system safety and control. The final delivery will include a clean, importable n8n workflow JSON, environment variable documentation, and a clear README covering Schwab authentication, execution flow, and rate-limit handling. I will also ensure state consistency between PostgreSQL and live trading events with near real-time Telegram notifications. Looking forward to reviewing your current flow and taking this to production-grade reliability. Best regards, Usama K

I’d build this as a state first workflow: every Schwab order response gets normalized, written to Postgres, and used to control the next action. OCO handling needs special care because placement is only half the job. The flow also has to watch both legs, detect fills or rejects, cancel the remaining side when needed, and avoid duplicate actions if n8n retries a node. For the kill switch, I’d make it a hard gate before any submit or modify action, plus a separate emergency path that cancels all open orders immediately through Schwab and records the shutdown event in Postgres and Telegram. That way it is not just a boolean sitting in the UI, it actually controls execution. I’ve built n8n workflows with API driven execution, Postgres backed state, webhook controls, Telegram alerts, and custom Node function logic where retries and idempotency mattered. Your acceptance criteria are clear enough to turn into one importable JSON plus a README with auth, env vars, and rate limit notes. Send over the current workflow structure and Schwab credential stubs, and I’ll confirm the OCO endpoints, state table shape, and kill switch path before touching the live flow.

Hi, your description of expanding the n8n flow into a full state-driven system for Schwab stood out, especially the need for OCO handling and a hard kill‑switch integrated with your PostgreSQL and Telegram stack. I’ve built similar Schwab REST automation before, delivering stable order state tracking and sub‑second notifications. I’ve seen that the real challenge here isn’t just wiring n8n nodes but ensuring Schwab’s asynchronous order updates remain consistent with both the DB and Telegram, especially when OCO legs change state independently. Managing that sync cleanly is what usually breaks junior implementations. I’ll structure a dedicated state engine inside n8n using custom Node functions, continuously reconcile Schwab order statuses, write atomic updates into PostgreSQL, and broadcast the same events to Telegram within your timing window. I’ll implement OCO creation, monitoring, and cancellation using Schwab’s REST endpoints and design the kill‑switch so it halts execution paths immediately and invalidates new order triggers. Before finalizing the workflow, I’ll confirm any auth and rate‑limit nuances and document everything cleanly in your README. Thanks, John allen.

Hi, this is Kris from McKinney, Texas, I've reviewed your project requirements and understand that you are looking to enhance your existing n8n flow with the Charles Schwab API. The key challenges include implementing full state management, support for complex orders, and integrating a reliable kill-switch feature. My approach involves developing a state logic system to track open positions and pending orders, creating and monitoring complex OCO orders using Schwab's REST endpoints, and implementing a kill switch to immediately cancel orders and prevent new submissions when necessary. A few additional questions: Q1: Could you provide more details on the specific functionalities required for the kill-switch feature? Q2: Do you have any preferences for the format of real-time updates on Telegram? Q3: Are there any specific security measures that need to be considered for handling Schwab credentials? Best regards, Kris Kramer
