Online software to create posters out of maps

Hello,
to describe this project I want you to imagine the following:
You want to have your personalized poster of the earth / country.
To create this poster you have a virtual globe that you can use like the Google Earth globe.
Additionally you can change the "surface" into special interest information. Like temperature in July, sorts of the growing crops, dimension of the countries in accordance to the population, etc.
So you center the globe in the position you want, let the surface shown that you want and you press "buy". Then a few days later UPS brings a poster to your door.
To realize this idea there are several things the winner of that bit has to proof he can handle with:
- the maps have different file extensions
- a lot of data has to transmitted, however a 2kb DSL connection has to handle it.
- there must be an interface with a printing company
- and much more :-) !
