An additional Aruba Controller-based access point has just arrived and must appear inside my ManageEngine environment with full monitoring and alerting in place. The device sits behind an Aruba Mobility Controller, so the job centres on registering that AP through the controller, exposing the right SNMP/CLI data, and then discovering it in ManageEngine (OpManager or a comparable ManageEngine module already running on-site). What has to happen • Register the AP on the controller, confirm it pulls the correct firmware and joins the existing WLAN group. • Configure or verify SNMP, SSH and any required trap destinations so ManageEngine can poll health, client count and radio metrics. • Add the AP in ManageEngine, place it in the proper device group and dashboard, and apply my existing monitoring template. • Run a brief fail-over test and generate a short hand-over note that lists the steps taken, IPs used and where to find the new graphs. Acceptance criteria – AP shows up as “Up” in ManageEngine with CPU, memory, radio and client statistics populating. – Alerts and e-mail notifications trigger correctly when the radio is disabled during the test. – A concise step-by-step document (Word or PDF) is delivered, allowing me to repeat the process for future controller-based APs. Remote access to the controller and the ManageEngine server is available via VPN; preferred session window is 09:00–17:00 GMT, though I can accommodate another time if needed. Familiarity with ArubaOS, SNMP v2/v3 configuration and ManageEngine discovery rules will make this a quick win.
