Altus Science is a Certified Reference Material (CRM) provider, focusing on Total Organic Carbon (TOC) and Conductivity CRMs. We provide Calibration, Validation and consumables for all makes of TOC analysers. The company recognises the importance of high-quality CRMs and our facility is home to a range of analytical instruments used for verification purposes. Altus Science is a privately-owned independent company, who are responsive to customer requests and offer technical support. We were successfully assessed by UKAS, and audited to both ISO 17025 and ISO Guide 34 (now ISO 17034).
We are looking for an experienced developer/team of developers to work full time for ~6 months to help plan, develop, deliver and support Altus Connect Orders. Successful completion of this project will hopefully lead to further work including new applications being developed, additions to existing applications, bug fixes, support contracts etc.
Altus Connect is a suite of applications where the main goal of the project is to ensure consistency/quality of products sold by Altus Science, to increase productivity, and to help automate manual processes. The apps manage user login and permissions, inventory tracking, production forms, verification and certification, sales and shipping, and production planning of CRMs that Altus Science produce and sell.
The applications that are currently in use are:
Management: controls user permissions and logs activity
Tracker: create new item types and tracks their stock in inventory
Product Manufacturing: creates detailed production records
Certs: performs statistical analysis of the products from .CSV data exported from TOC analysers and generates PDF certificates
Orders is the next application to be completed, already partially developed. It is intended to be an order fulfilment and sales tool, allowing users to manage customer’s orders, book shipment and ensure package contents using barcode scanning of product labels. It is also intended to integrate with third party accounting (Xero) and shipping (EasyPost) systems. Most of these systems are either partially complete or require designing and developing.
We have several major additions to the existing apps planned including: New production methods that will require adapting the current production workflow; New item types that will require additional fields in inventory; New methods for adding items to inventory; New checks for verification of new production methods; Some work will also need to be done to the existing apps to integrate better with the new apps/fix small issues.
All parts of Altus Connect will remain the intellectual property of Altus Science and applicants will be required to sign an NDA to ensure confidentiality of all work done. Applicants will be asked to show examples of relevant previous work and interviewed via phone/video call to confirm communication skills, language proficiency and to get a better insight into the project.
