Real Time Data Bases Engineer - Madrid

Summary of Role As part of DAS & SCADA Department and reporting to Control Systems Sr. Engineer, the summary of the main functions included are:   Real Time data Bases (RTDB) Engineer will be the technical authority in regards to creation, management and modification of interfaces with Enterprise Historian (OSIsoft PI) or with historians from taken over projects. RTDB field of work will include from design and deployment of interfaces from existing DBs into historian DB to propose and assess changes made in the Central Infrastructure, reaching as high as possible level of automation.   Key Duties &Responsibilities   This individual will be responsible for the following tasks:   Act as technical authority for OSIsoft PI related matters:Enterprise historian deployment, installation and maintenance Local historian instances Connectors and Interfaces Data connectivity between PI instances Design and deploy connectivity from all remote sites into Enterprise PI historian Validate Historian configuration for all sites fitted with SCADA solution Design, build and deploy the RT data interface between projects fitted with whichever monitoring technology into. Participate in the design and construction of any new tools related to PI RTDB, coordinated with SW EngineersEducation & Experience Technical Background; Engineering Degree, or equivalent, Telecommunications or IT are preferred. Minimum experience of 5 years as OSIsoft PI specialist Experience as OSIsoft direct employee (developer, technical support) is highly preferred At least 2 years of experience in power industry, solar, hydro and wind industries is desirable, participating in the construction of SCADA systems and centralized performance RTDB. Able to work in English (written and spoken) as part of multinational teams based in multiple remote locations. Experience on several of the most common SCADA solutions: Wonderware, ABB, Emerson, InduSoft, etc, and its interface with OSIsoft PI System. Knowledge of standard communication security rules and procedures, encryption, tunneling, SSH. The individual filling this position would ideally have the following skills and experience. Excellent oral communication skills, being able to transmit complex technical ideas in simple terms. Highly proficient in the use of MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point. Competent in the use of MS Project and CAD tools. Willing to travel up to 20% of time Flexible working schedule in order to adapt to projects in different locations, with possibility to have shifts varying from Japan working time to California working time, depending on project, project phase and criticality.
