We are looking for a Filipino freelance dietitian or nutritionist who can help prepare an easy-to-follow meal and feeding plan for an 84-year-old male patient who is bedridden with Stage IV lung cancer and COPD. Patient condition and setup: With pigtail drain, NGT (nasogastric tube), and urinary catheter Doctor advised combination feeding: Liquid nutrition and medications via NGT Soft diet via mouth Current feeding: Ensure: 3 scoops mixed in 170ml every 4 hours via NGT Lugaw/rice porridge also given via NGT once or twice daily Water intake is mostly through NGT because the patient dislikes plain water with thickener by mouth Other thickened liquids may still be tolerated orally, but intake is done with precaution because the patient can choke easily with liquids We need someone experienced in: Elderly patient nutrition Cancer and COPD nutrition support NGT feeding Soft diet preparation Dysphagia / swallowing difficulty management Creating practical Filipino meal plans with simple caregiver instructions Goal: To create a realistic, nutritious, and easy-to-prepare feeding/menu plan that supports hydration, comfort, and nutrition while considering the patient’s condition and swallowing limitations.
