The project consists of reworking an existing screen on an existing program. I’m hoping for someone who is really knows Mac OSX/Cocoa/NSTableView and the associated frameworks. The screen is simple it consists of 2 main classes. One for the view controller and one for the table.
One issue is that each object in the table does not correspond to a row. This is a problem for the standard cocoa display design patterns.
For example, the columns represent players in a sports team and the rows represent the position of the player. A player has a name, stats, team and a position – each of these fields are optionally visible. The Rows in the table contain the position, so each player appears in his row (or position).
This is all working properly but it doesn’t look as good as we would like (screenshot attached).
1) Fields (Position, Cost, FP, etc) are not separated with a grid line (and should be sortable if easy).
2) Merge columns in the first column does not look good (lines) and not centered in space provided – see first column, “OF” row.
3) Column titles, need to display the data field below it (eg, column 2, it says “Team 1”, but should also say Position, Cost, FP, Name. Important , it should still say “Team 1” centered above that.
4) Ability to easily add fields needed in “Player”, including one optional graphical icon. I can tell you which ones.
All of the underlying data structures will be included and an xcode project containing all of the data needed to run the program will be supplied.
I need you to “clean up this screen”, make it look good. I need two more tabs (new code) on this screen using the same data, (Players and Teams) which you will most likely get to work on if you can complete this project. NDA required.
