I need help troubleshooting an HDMI connection issue between my Windows laptop and external display (TV/monitor). The current problem is "No signal detected". I have already tried a different HDMI cable without success. Ideal skills and experience: - Expertise in Windows operating systems - Experience with HDMI troubleshooting and connectivity issues - Ability to diagnose and resolve display connection problems System Model ASUS TUF Gaming F17 FX706LI_FX706LI Adapter Description NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Google Smart TV Aconatic 32HS1000AN HDMI port only partially connecting to Google Smart TV also does not work to a different TV or any normal monitors. I bought the laptop about 5 years ago and this is the first time I have tried to use the HDMI port. At first I spent 3 hours changing all the settings and it suddenly worked when I moving the refresh rate of the laptop from 144hz to 60hz. It all worked for 3 days with everything being switched off each night. I then did a reset on the Google TV to change the email login and its not worked since. I have tried many different solutions for over a week found using Google AI. The HDMI port seems to partially see the Google TV and as 'Display 2: TV-monitor'

Hello, I can help diagnose this systematically rather than repeating generic HDMI troubleshooting. Your description already gives useful clues: Windows partially detects the TV as “Display 2: TV-monitor,” the connection previously worked after changing 144 Hz to 60 Hz, and the HDMI output also fails with other TVs/monitors. That means I would test the complete output chain before assuming the Google TV itself is responsible. I can guide you through: • Windows display detection and projection settings • Resolution/refresh-rate and HDMI handshake testing • NVIDIA GTX 1650 Ti configuration and driver checks • ASUS graphics/HDMI driver verification • EDID/display detection and cached-monitor reset • Clean graphics-driver reinstall if required • BIOS/firmware and power-state checks • Determining whether the HDMI port has a software, configuration, or hardware-level fault Since the port has never been regularly used and multiple external displays show the same problem, I’ll also help isolate whether repair is actually necessary rather than endlessly changing Windows settings. I can troubleshoot this with you step-by-step through text and screenshots until we identify the failing stage.

Hello, YOU'VE MENTIONED the specific issue you are facing with the HDMI connection on your Windows laptop and external display. My name is Aqsa K., and I have extensive experience troubleshooting similar technical issues with display connectivity. FOR YOUR PROJECT, MY APPROACH WOULD BE to first analyze the current settings and configurations on your Windows laptop to identify any potential conflicts causing the "No signal detected" problem. Additionally, I would thoroughly inspect the HDMI port and compatibility between your laptop and the Google Smart TV to pinpoint the exact source of the issue. Could you provide more details about any recent software updates or changes made to the laptop or TV that might have triggered the problem? I believe a brief call would be beneficial to discuss the troubleshooting steps in more detail. Please review my portfolio for relevant experience: https://www.freelancer.com/u/Aqsa4400 Best regards, Aqsa K.

Hello, Your ASUS FX706LI detecting "Display 2: TV-monitor" without a picture, plus the temporary success at 60 Hz, gives us a useful starting point. I’ll check the actual HDMI output mode and graphics drivers, while keeping a possible port fault in mind because other displays also fail. My skills include Windows troubleshooting, display configuration, graphics-driver diagnosis and remote technical support. I’ll guide you through these targeted checks: 1. Use Win+P > Extend, select Display 2 in Advanced display, and test a supported resolution at 60 Hz. The external display’s setting matters, not just the laptop panel’s refresh rate. 2. Fully shut down the laptop, power-cycle the TV, reconnect HDMI and confirm the correct TV input to retry the HDMI handshake. 3. Try Win+Ctrl+Shift+B to reset the graphics driver, then inspect adapter status and driver versions. If needed, reinstall the appropriate ASUS graphics drivers. 4. Retest with a known-working monitor and verify the picture survives a restart. I can work with you within 1 day and provide a short record of the tests and stable settings. If the evidence points to a physical HDMI fault, I’ll explain the repair options clearly; hardware repair cannot be completed remotely. Send your Windows version and screenshots of Display 2’s advanced settings so we can begin.
