I am wanting a PCB designed, and for the programming on the board to also be done as per the following requirements..
This PCB needs to allow RS232 packets (from the RS232 port) to be sent to a cloud using MQTT from the LAN port on the board. (not WiFi, and needs to be hardwired).
When data is sent to the cloud, the cloud can then reply back with a packet and needs to be forward to the RS232 port.
This board needs to request the cloud for it's ID. This ID will be the unique ID that this board will use as the MQTT topic.
As this will be a MQTT proxy (passing the RS232 data back and forward) between the cloud and board, it will require a LAN with internet connection so it can connect to the outside.
If the customers internet drops or the network cable is removed, it would be ideal if the board also has a sim module so a SIM card can be inserted into the board and the RS232 data could be sent by the mobile network (SIM card) to the cloud while the network is offline and then is restored once the LAN network is restored.
If a sim module is going to be used on the board, then it must connect to the 4G network and fall back to the 3G network when 4G is not available.
A LED should also be on the PCB to indicate if it's connecting via the sim module or the LAN connection.
Programming the IP address and network settings should be done via the LAN port and sent as a UDP message over the network. As long as the board can send and receive the network settings over the network as a JSON message, I will be able to develop the programming software myself and not requiring this to be done as part of the project.
I am looking for a cost and ETA on design and engineering of this board including writing software to make this product work.
It would be ideal for the product to be the size of a business card so it's in a small compact form factor, and ideal for the antenna to be an external antenna for the sim module.
