I run a ubb [url removed, login to view] board and am having problems with members linking images to the board from outside web servers. When those other servers are busy, this can lock up my forum from displaying. Those images also quickly disappear and leave the archived discussions without the reference images. I have added a "user upload" to the website for members to upload their images to as they pertain for the discussions. Unfortunately there are members with their own FTP servers who feel they are superior and as such are immune to the policies of my board. What I want is a script that will prevent anyone from placing an image on another webserver and linking it to my forum. Instead of displaying the picture from the other server, I want it to display a specific image of my choice from my web server. I know this can be easily done with regular web pages, but remember this is specific to the "Ultimate Bulletin Board version [url removed, login to view]", which is written in Perl. This does not have to be a hack to the forum program itself. It can merely be an extra file or two I place in the ubb folder. (In short, I am not picky as to exactly how this is accomplished, so long as it works.) Requirements: it MUST work on IE, Netscape and Opera browsers...all versions (very old ones before version 4 may be excluded). It must work even if someone has Java and such turned off. It must run on my UNIX box as well as my Windows box. In other words, it can't simply work for IE and be acceptable.
