I am looking for a Technorati API script that would do Technorati for Keywords and pull the following information: number of times the word appeared in Technorati (which I know is possible); how many times in the past week, month and quarter (not sure if Technorati allows you to access this info using APIs). I've a simple 10 to 15 line Yahoo API script written in Python that searches Yahoo, Yahoo News and Yahoo Podcast and pulls information on total appearance of certain keywords .

the technorati API returns only the current number of match, as seen in the API documentation here [login to view URL] If I understand you correctly you want to search for a keyword ('zope' for example) and get the number of results (6730 at the time of writing). I can't get access to past results, but have working that do the trick otherwise. Could be delivered now with instructions.
