I will be editing real estate photographs and mask for example the floor and the cabinets in a kitchen. On these masked areas I need to apply several textures (such as several types of hardwood floor or different wood textures for the cabinets) and skew/adjust the texture to fit in the pictures perspective. The problem I run into is that if I have 10 different textures I need to apply the textures on the masked areas manually for each texture and of course that takes a lot more time depending on how many choices of textures I have.
My idea is that all the textures I use should be in the same original scale and dimensions and once I apply 1 texture to a masked area, I use a script to export the geometric data about the position of the texture. This could be exported into a text file, XML or any other text based format that I can later use with flash scripts. When this data has been exported from Photoshop I can run scripts or interpret that data to apply the same position for an unlimited amount of textures, provided that they are all originally in the same scale and size.
An alternative solution would be that I mask for example the floor, apply a texture for that masked area and according to the correct perspective, then I use a script function that does exactly the same thing with another 10 textures, but unlike above it could be done in Photoshop instead of exporting the geometric data into a text file.
