I want to have a photo web store based on the magento shopping cart software, which is freeware. ([url removed, login to view]).
Since the software already contains main aspects, there is no need to work on any of these (example: payment, reporting, adding/editing users etc.)
I also already purchased [url removed, login to view] which should make it much easier for you.
How the photo web store should work:
1) A user will use a form to upload a (about 20MB) TIFF image. The script will take the information from the file and place it in the description field. I forgot which format it is but here is a sample image, so you can test it: [url removed, login to view] [url removed, login to view] (Use 'Save as', as it is large). I believe you can read the information with Photoshop. Ideally I want to be able to select up to 10 images, so I don't have to sit in front of the computer forever to select a new file. I want it in a way that I do NOT have to click 'browse,' then select the image, and then click 'ok' 10 times. I like the forms where I can ctrl or shift+click to select files and click upload once. The phpfileuploader program does that, so you just need to set it up properly.
2) The script will then create smaller formats of the image I uploaded. The original is always .tif @ 300 dpi file. I'd like to be able to set the resize settings in the control panel if I ever want to change them later. Here are the sizes I want. Please note that the encoded description from the original file needs to be encoded on the recreated smaller images.
XS: 72dpi .jpg at 50% of the original size
Small: 300dpi .jpg at 50% of the original size
Medium: 300dpi .jpg at the original size
Large: 300dpi .tif at the original size (this is the originally uploaded file - no need to convert)
3) By default the program will set the price for the images. Again this should be set in the control panel. However, if I change the price in the actual image page then the program will use that price. This would be useful for special collection images.
XS: 72dpi .jpg at 50% of the original size - $[url removed, login to view]
Small: 300dpi .jpg at 50% of the original size - $[url removed, login to view]
Medium: 300dpi .jpg at the original size - $15
Large: 300dpi .tif at the original size - $30
Extended: 300dpi .tif at the original size + extended license - $75 (this is the same image as the Large image, but extended license...no need to do anything extra in terms of image conversion)
So if I were a customer and I'd want to buy the M-4 tank_and_halftrack_on_maneuvers image, then I'd be on the page where I can see the image and select from all the image sizes. Kind of like this [url removed, login to view];oid=4830129&q=war
I hope my description is clear. I'd like to have a person in my time zone if possible, so that we can chat on MSN if you have questions.
I have the file [url removed, login to view] with the description “this is an image of a tank in 1944.”
I upload the file. The program creates the different sizes and encodes the description in each file. A page is created in the shopping cart and the description from the file is included in the page. A customer can purchase the images selected and download the files within 30 days. After that the download link expires. (I believe magento already does that – please check)
