I am looking for someone who might be familiar with the VPASP shopping cart, to do modifications and customizations. I'm not listing specifics at this time - they could go on for pages! I would like to find someone that I feel can handle it and that I can afford!, and then go into great detail. VPASP is done in what I think is called "spaghetti programming", and has a couple hundred asp pages. If you are not familiar with this program, you'll need to be able to deal with that. It contains about 200 asp pages.
Here are a few things I need done - just in brief, so you'll have an idea -
Wishlists are currently saved as cookies - I think they need to be saved as actual lists, so that a program (you create) can go through the product table at night, looking for new entries or for stock that has gone from 0 to >0, and then go through the wishlists, and send a personalized email to the matches.
Used products will be added to the database by sellers. I would like for a link to "3 used items" (or however many) to show up on the regular product description pages, and search results pages, and will link to a page with all used items with the same product number on it (as opposed to one product per page).
Shipping tables will need to be modified. Currently they are based on total weight. But with some items coming from different sellers, the amounts would have to be based on total weight per seller - then with a grand total.
Login system - I currently have 3 groups with different logins. I plan to add 3 more groups with logins. What a pain! I would like for one login to log a person in to all their accounts at once. But that would have to be integrated with the exisiting stuff somehow.
There is some affiliate functionality, but not enough. Expanded reports, and reports on payments made need to added.
Also, expanded reporting for sellers.
A feedback system on sellers.
These are just to give you some ideas, but there is more. Some things are as simple as getting text to move to the left on a page. Lots of little stuff like that.
Right now I would just like to know if anyone has experience with the VPASP program, or if they could do these kinds of things with or without knowing VPASP, what you charge, and if you can kind of help me think the things through to find the easiest way to do them. I would also like to know the amount of time you can devote to this project.
IIS4 WinNT, CDONTS, Frontpage, ASP, Access 2000. Needs to be "all browsers friendly".
