The purpose of this project is a proof of concept.? **Enable simple data synchronization from my Blackberry to the Web, and vice-versa**.
The end result will be a the ability to enter text into a text box in the Blackberry, which can be displayed and edited on the web.? And, vice-versa, enter text via the web, that can be displayed and edited in my Blackberry.
**1. Simple Blackberry Application
**This should be provided by a simple blackberry application.? The application opens to show a text box, and a button that says "Update".
When this button is pressed, the blackberry sends encrypted user authentication information to the website (something to uniquely and securely identify the user).?
Once connected, it compares its local text box value with the one on the web.? If the web version is different, the blackberry interface will alert the user as to which entry is more up-to-date.
**2. Simple Web Application**
The web application is equally simple.? User must login.? A text box is displayed where the user can enter/modify/delete the text that shows up (text is either from blackberry entry, or previous web entry).? There is one button called "Save."? When pressed, it saves the data which will later be read by the blackberry client.
**The language platform must be LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP).? UPDATE: Language can also be Java, or C# instead of PHP)
Please ask any questions you might have.? This is a proof of concept project.? If we are mutually satisfied with our work arrangement, it will expand into a functional application.
Please ask me for more details if they are needed.?
I view this as equivalent to a "Hello World" app, save for the complexity of moving back and forth through a Blackberry and website.
