I need a coder who's attentive to details and committed to delivering a job well done from the beginning. Basic concept This site allows registered users to upload images with a short description, to add tags, votes and comments on other users images and to sort and search images in different ways. Users can also get notifications when new images are uploaded, new comments posted or when other users login. Project Size Over $500 Since this is only a first release of the site, more work will follow. Specificaton Attached you'll find a flowchart descibing the site. You'll also find mockups of the most essential screens. Project scope 1. At this stage there is no need to implement a design on the site. We start with the functionality, get users to try it out and adjust it to get a good usability. Graphic design will come later. 2. Images will be displayed in a Flash player. You can choose to build the complete site with player in Flash, or to let the Flash part be handled by someone else. 3. In the flowchart and mockups you'll see something called "Similar Images". The algorithm to be used here is being constructed by another coder. 4. In the flowchart and mockups you'll see that images can be uploaded. The site should allow users to upload images in different file formats (for instance .tif and .eps), but must also convert them to .jpg to be displayed on the site.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

Just wanted to let you know that I'm reviewing all the bids (around 40 by now, which is way over what I expected) to evaluate how to move on. Stay tuned.
To be discussed with coder. I am thinking asp.net and MSSQL, but the choice is still open. Let me know what platform you think suits the project. Ruby on Rails?
