We are looking for seasoned VB.NET programmers that have at least 4 years OOP experience with Oracle and VB.NET.
The application we are building will consist of an Excel spreadsheet "Template" which will ultimately end up in the Oracle table.
This entire process will execute through the use of an Oracle transaction.? Should the process fail, the entire insert will be rolled back.? No exceptions.? If any exception occurs, the process is rolled back.
There are likely to be 5,000? rows of data or about that in the insert (inside the excel spreadsheet.? Should row 5,000 fail, not one of the rows will be inserted in to the database.
You will select the information from the Excel spreadsheet (which will have a place on the ASPX to designate the path and filename) as "select * from sheet$1 in the form of a datatable.
Create a table in Oracle with 10 columns and a Spreadsheet "Template" with 10 columns which will contain dates, numbers and varchar datatypes which all correspond with the Oracle table created as having the same datatype.
Populate the spreadsheet template with a "header row" and give the spreadsheet 5,000 rows of dummy data.
This is the information the will inserted into the oracle table.
The oracle table will contain a first column as ID, which is NOT NULL as well as UNIQUE;? and in order to test the rollback feature, you will provide both an example with a successful 5,000 row insert as well as a 5,000 row insert that fails and rolls back on the 5,000th row due to a duplicate ID specified (i.e. 4999 as the ID)
