Hi,

I would like an ASP/Access system that allows users to submit prescanned/filed news articles in a system which can then be searched (note: an upload facility for the article files is NOT required, the user need only specify the filename of the file on the form as the files are already uploaded to the directory, which should then be used by the system to form part of the links on the output pages to the files already on the webserver).

## Deliverables

Basically, it is going to allow users to list new news items that have been scanned in by a scanner in pdf format. The system is made up of 4 pages:

**[url removed, login to view]** = a form that users fill out to enter all of the details of the news item and also specify the filename of the scanned pdf (an upload facility is not required, these will already be sitting in the correct directory),

**[url removed, login to view]** = a page that lists all of the most recently added (according to date) articles, grouped under the name of the newspaper they appeared in,

**[url removed, login to view]** = a page that allows searching for the articles

**[url removed, login to view]** = a results page that displays the output from the search.

I have already constructed the layout and all forms in the 4 HTML documents attached.

On the pages that list the articles, the headline of the article should be a URL and should open in a new window the filename specified for the record in the **archive/** directory. Also on these pages, I have demonstrated how I want the output to look (shown between <!--example starts here --> and <!--example ends here --> in the HTML). Articles will be listed under the name of the newspaper they appear in and only articles will be listed that have the three most recent publication dates (submitted in the form). So for example, if articles for a certain paper were not submitted, the most recent ones would remain listed (even though other newspapers may have more recent articles). When a new article is submitted that has a newer publication date, the 3rd newest would then be dropped of the list, and so on.

This number of 3 recent dates must be able to be changed within the ASP so that I can display articles that have the 5 most recent publication dates, or 7 and so on.

Each listing should have the date next to it (in DD/MM/YYYY format), followed by **::** followed by the headline text (that is also a link that is constructed using the filename provided in the form) followed by the department that the article is relevant to (as ated in step 2 on the form) and this should appear between a **[** and **]** (this format is shown between the two comment tags above on the two output pages).

**[url removed, login to view]** should allow searching of all of the articles submitted and **[url removed, login to view]** should show the serach results.

No changes should be made to the visible structure of the page (i.e. form/text formatting etc).
