I would like to create a portal/membership community site. This site will be fully interactive between members. Members will be registered at varied levels. "Free Members", "Paid Members", "Platinum Members" etc. Features will include a web based email system, a "hot list" for your friends, a calendar section, and a member rating system, a profiler - Browse/Search/Match. We will also have the ability to detect a users online presence in a tear-off window that will remain on a users screen as long as his/her pc is on. This will update in real-time as AOL Instant Messenger does. The site will also have an Instant Messaging system for interaction between members. We will also have a chat system. Users will also have the ability to create their own member home pages on our server, (a fingertips like system). The ideal system will be a visual basic application that would have a web-browser built in which would connect only to our main community server. SQL will be running on our server. As members use services such as create buddy, send message? the server would be via winsock.ctrl. We are not 100% married to VB or ASP. Feel free to bid with your own suggestions for languages/platforms. Many more features will be added afterwards, however, this is a shell that we would like created first.
This project should include complete source code, fully documented for a group of programmers to pick up where you left off, for updates, etc. This should also include full transferable rights to our company. Project will be deemed complete when the site is full functional on our server.

Gentlemen, I have had a great response to this ad. Unfortunately I have found several coders showing off work that belonged to other coder/companies. I have decided that the only way to be fair would be to give a small coding task as a prerequisite to awarding a contract. I will post the details of the project at **[login to view URL]** by tonight. I do not want to circumvent Rent-a-coder so we must both agree that rent-a-coder will get paid their commission if a rent-a-coder programmer is chosen! David
