My project doesn't only consist of parsing odds from a sportsbook. It consist of making a login page where different users can login and choose a pick from the different major U.S. sports including NFL football, college football, baseball, NBA basketball, college basketball, and NHL hockey. It will have a table for each of the sports. It will show the games being played for the day with the odds. The user gets to select the picks from those games for the day.
After the user chooses a pick, it takes them to a confirmation page where they can have the option to enter in a reason why they chose that pick. They can either enter in their reason in HTML or regular text.
After they confirm it, the picks gets posted in a table on my site. The table can be viewed here: [url removed, login to view]
If you study the table, you will notice it has columns for the sports service name, sport, selection (pick), WU (stands for write up which links to the page where the reasoning will be posted), [url removed, login to view] (last months record), [url removed, login to view] (this month records, and Streak.
At the end of the night, I go into the backend and grade the picks with either win or lose. If it wins, the record columns updates with a win and the streak is also updated. If it loses, the record columns updates with a loss and the streak is updated. The rankings will be based on the current months record.
After I finish grading the picks, the table clears and the users/sports services can start logging in and choosing the next days pick. It would also be good If they happen to choose a pick for the next day before I grade the picks for the day, it gets stored somewhere and after I finish grading the picks, it updates it onto the site so they won't have to wait till I finish grading the picks before they can login and enter the next days picks.
